Tottenham renewed their pursuit of a place in the Premier League top four as they came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 in north London.

Adam Webster put the visitors ahead in the first half before Spurs Captain, Harry Kane continued his goal scoring record on boxing day to level the score with a right-foot shot.

Dele Alli’s sublime finish from Serge Aurier’s pass gave Spurs the win which moves them closer to Chelsea in the race for a top 4 finish.

Chelsea on their part lost consecutive premier league games at home for the first time since 2011 as Southampton earned a key win in their fight against relegation at Stamford Bridge.

The home side were relatively poor on the day as goals from Michael Obafemi and Nathan Redmond gave the points to Southampton.

In other games, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his 12th Premier League goal of the season as Arsenal came from behind to draw 1-1 at Bournemouth. It was the first game for Mikel Arteta as Arsenal’s New Manager.

Carlo Ancelotti made a winning start as Everton manager with his side edging past Burnley 1-0 at Goodison Park.

Sheffield played a 1-1 draw against Watford while Crystal palace got a 2-1 win over West ham.

Manchester United were in goal scoring form, winning Newcastle United 4-1 at Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer celebrated his 1st year anniversary as the Club’s Manager.

The Premier League continues on Friday with Champions Manchester City travelling away to Wolves.

A win for City would see them move into second place ahead of Leicester who lost to Liverpool on Thursday.
