SMEDAN, NEPC train 100 persons on entrepreneurship, export skills in Kebbi

The Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency has trained one hundred entrepreneurs, mostly women, in entrepreneurship and export facilitation skills in Kebbi state.

This is to ensure that Micro, Small and medium enterprises are strategically positioned to take advantage of international supply and value chains

It is also to build their capacity and provide all relevant information to facilitate their effective participation in the export market

Experts in Nigeria believes entrepreneurship is a positive approach to curbing youth unemployment and alleviating poverty.

It strengthens social inclusion by enabling people to engage actively in productive, economic, social and cultural activities

This is why the Small and medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency is training one hundred entrepreneurs, mostly women, in entrepreneurship and export facilitation skills.

The training by SMEDAN, is in Collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, and is taking place in three states, Cross River, Kwara and Kebbi

It is aimed at Increasing awareness and sensitizing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on the importance of enhancing exports,

The aim at the end is to improve the capacity of existing and potential small business exporters across the country

The Director General of the Agency Oluwale Tunde Fasanya was represented at the event by Ado Adamu, a Deputy Director in at the agency

He said Programme will also ensure the attainment of minimum national and international standards for accessing national and international markets, as well as excellent branding and packaging of products and services to meet both national and international standards.

He tasked the Participants to take advantage of the opportunity by participating fully in the program

One of the beneficiaries of the training, Fatima Ibrahim express confidence it will enhance her knowledge on International Markets and quality standard of products.

She said it has afforded her the opportunity to learn more on packaging and rebranding her product to compete in International Markets

The training is expected to instill in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the readiness to export their products and services and recognize areas where improvements are required in order to be able to export effectively and efficiently.
