This plea is coming on the heels of comments from the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Danjuma Goje, who is also from Gombe State, calling for the scrapping of the programme.

TVC’s Lanre Adeyemi reports that hundreds of beneficiaries of the federal government’s N-power programme have gathered to plead with the senate to ensure continued funding for the scheme.

With placards, speeches and solidarity songs, the beneficiaries are determined to make their voices heard.

The N-Power ambassador in Gombe State also denied allegations that the programme is fraught with fraud, saying the process for disbursement of funds is transparent.

The federal government’s Social Investment Programme has four key components.  The conditional funds transfers, The home grown school feeding, N-power for unemployed graduates and the Enterprise Entrepreneurship Programme with 2910 youths currently benefiting from the programme in Gombe State.
