The Senate has confirmed the appointment of three nominees as non-career ambassadors.
Those confirmed are Lateef Kayode Kolawole Are ( Ogun ) , Aminu Muhammad Dalhatu( Jigawa ), and Emmanuel Ayodele Oke( OYO) .
Their confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs after screening the nominees.

The upper chamber says the appointments are in line with Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and diplomatic engagements.
The confirmed ambassadors are expected to represent Nigeria’s interests abroad.
Tinubu had earlier submitted the names of three ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the submission while presiding over Wednesday’s plenary session, closely monitored by TVC News.
The trio as Tinubu’s first set of ambassadorial appointment so far since he assumed office in 2023.
