The Fourth overpass bridge on the Red line rail corridor has been opened to traffic.
This means that the Red line rail project is getting closer to completion.
Governor Babajide Sanwoolu was joined by his Kwara state counterpart, AbdulRasak AbdulRahman to inaugurate the project at Ikeja area of the state.
The Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line Ikeja Overpass bridge, a T-bridge design, is one of the five bridges the Lagos state government apportioned for construction.
This is to separate vehicular, pedestrian and train traffic.
Kwara state governor and the chairman Nigeria Governor’s forum, AbdulRasak AbdulRahman is in Lagos to open the 620 meters long IKEJA overpass bridge for use.
The entire 37km Red line rail will have eight stations at Agbado, lju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba and Oyingbo.
Lagos is home to a growing population of 24 million of inhabitants, making it a very large city, hence the need for mass transportation.
