The Rivers State House of Assembly has resumed plenary session after a six-month suspension imposed during the State of Emergency.
The assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule reconvened at the Assembly Residential Complex along the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway.
Recall that the legislature was suspended alongside the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Ngozi Odu.
And plenary was last held on the 12th of March 2025, about one week before President Bola Tinubu declared emergency rule.
As the house returns to the business of lawmaking, a large crowd of supporters are converged on the Government House in anticipation of the arrival of the Governor following his reinstatement.
