The House Committee on Youth Development is set to investigate the undue reduction in the quota of students mobilised annually for the NYSC scheme by tertiary institutions.
Representatives Raphael Igbokwe and Babatunde Kolawole drew members’ attention to a recent circular by the NYSC reducing tertiary institutions’ quota by almost seventy per cent.
Igbokwe, who read the motion, expressed worry that the latest directive could amount to untold hardship for the students in participating in the scheme.
