The body of the late former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has arrived at the Benin Airport marking the beginning of burial rites for the highly respected retired police chief.
The remains were formally received on behalf of the Edo State Government by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Gani Ahudu, who led the state’s delegation.
Also present to honour the late IGP was the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Salman-Dogo Garba, along with senior police officers and other dignitaries.

The solemn occasion drew emotional reactions from mourners and family members who gathered at the airport to pay their respects to the former police boss.
Late Arase, who hailed from Edo State, served as Nigeria’s 18th Inspector General of Police and was known for his reforms and commitment to professionalism within the force.
