Armed Policemen have taken over the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) headquarters in Jabi as workers continue protest against the reinstatement of its executive secretary, Professor Usman Yusuf.Yusuf was recalled by president Muhammadu Buhari last week, causing a lot of controversy within the health sector.
The staff had come out to protest this recent development in front of the NHIS headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, chanting slogans expressing their disappointment with the recent unfolding event following his recall.
Yusu had been suspended in July 2017 by the minister of health, Professor Isaac Adewole over allegations of gross misconduct.
