A coalition of civil society organisations billed to hold a symposium on the state of democracy, state of insecurity in Nigeria were stopped from accessing the venue of the event by men of the Nigerian police on Monday.

It took the intervention of civil rights lawyer Femi Falano to allow the activists into the venue of the event after appealing to the leader of the police team.
