Image result for Political Party chairmen undergo training in AbujaNigerian political parties have been advised to professionalise their processes that lead to the emergence of candidates for elections.

At a training for party chairmen, Senate President Bukola Saraki and other speakers said this will reduce post-election litigation.

TVC News Senior Correspondent Sumner Sambo reports that Chairmen of the sixty eight political parties in Nigeria were trained on the dynamics of managing political parties professionally.

Nigeria’s public policy think-tank, NIPSS and speakers said that there is need for an institutionalization of political processes leading to emergence of candidates without contestation in court in order to stabilize the polity as 2019 elections approach.

Election analysts and technocrats describe Nigeria’s current political parties as weak in policy formulation and execution.

They are calling for a democratization of internal party structures to reduce constant litigation by aggrieved aspirants after party primaries.

With the entry of new political parties, the party chieftains are advised to work more on inclusion of youths in the process of electioneering and reducing the cost of obtaining forms to contest elections.
