Police investigators have arrived in Jalingo the capital of Taraba state to find out how three of their undercover operatives and one civilian were killed by soldiers in Ibi local government area.

A vehicle carrying the slain policemen and a high-profile kidnap suspect they had arrested, came under fire from soldiers on Tuesday.
The suspect Alhaji Hamisu managed to escape, even though he was in handcuffs and leg chains.
He is linked with a series of major kidnappings in parts of Northern Nigeria, and the incident has sparked national outrage with the police seeking answers from the army.
Taraba residents say it will serve the interest of justice for the police to make its findings public.
