Taraba State Police command has confirmed a bomb blast at a local joint opposite the state university in Jalingo, where lecturers and government officers often relax.
The joint has now been cordoned off while the police has deployed men of the anti-bomb units to all joints in the state capital to avert such incidents.
The Sunday bomb blast was the fourth in the chain of explosions that have rocked Jalingo, the state capital this year.
The explosion damaged some commercial stalls and residential buildings in the area.
The district head of “Nukia” said that youths will be mobilised to join security agents to identify suspicious strangers in the locality.
He however cautioned residents to be more security conscious.
The state police command on its part has promised the residents of adequate protection.
Though no fewer than 20 persons have lost their lives to bomb blast in jalingo this year with over 30 wounded, the Sunday bomb blast recorded no casualty.
