The Delta State Police Command has achieved another major breakthrough in its efforts to dismantle armed criminal networks in Oghara and surrounding communities.
The operation, conducted by the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) under ASP Julius Robinson, followed previous arrests on November 24, 2025, when confessed cultists were detained and a pump-action gun recovered.
Acting on fresh intelligence, CP-SAT intensified surveillance and carried out coordinated follow-up operations. On November 25, 2025, two additional suspects, 38-year-old Justice Ikutu and 55-year-old Peter Okomeje, were arrested at separate locations in Oghara.
A search at the residence of an associate, Peter Kome, led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle fitted with a double magazine, along with other items believed to be linked to cult-related and armed robbery activities.
All suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to identify and apprehend other members of the gang.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, commended the swift action and professionalism of the CP-SAT team.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to aid the Command’s ongoing fight against crime in Delta State.
