Violence has erupted in Olomore market in Abeokuta as dozens of Hausa traders protest the death of one of them during an alleged shooting by operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad.
The aggrieved traders allegedly smashed objects, including the operational vehicle of the state media house, and other property in sight.
They were later joined by those from the nearby Lafenwa market, who got wind of the shooting, and took to expressway, disrupting flow of traffic.
Operatives of the anti-robbery squad are alleged to have chased some suspected criminals towards the Olomore market and fired at them.
The police is yet to respond to these allegations.
