OPINION: How Endless Lies Entangled Adeleke-led Government

The bane of the problematic Governor Ademola Adeleke-led government in Osun State has been that it is pathologically incurable in the use of lies, falsehoods and subterfuge to run its administration which has been the reason for the verifiable deterioration of its image both nationally and internationally.

A close study of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP-led administration in the state would attest to the fact that the Adeleke-led government has been fond of reeling out one chicanery in one day as the hallmark of the administration which has been found out to be subsequently counterproductive because of its boomerang effects.

Though the lies being told by the Governor Adeleke-led government are legendary of which the spectacular one was that it was the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu -led Federal Government that has been putting pressure on it to defect into the opposition APC party in order to fortify the party to enable it win the forthcoming elections in the state when the reverse is pungently the case.

What would be the point of attraction for the stronger opposition APC in Osun State to submit to the antics of the emissaries of Governor Adeleke who have been packaging lies for the people as the reason for their principal’s intention to run away from the crisis-ridden PDP at all its national, state and local government levels?

Who does not know that the PDP is presently headless at its topmost echelon while all the pillars who made it possible for Governor Adeleke to have a resemblance of winning the last set of elections in Osun State have since dumped the PDP for the opposition APC in the state?

Governor Adeleke and his co-travellers should stop insulting the sensibility of the right-thinking members of the society by making it appear as if his party is having an upper political hand in the state when it is visible to the blind, audible to the deaf and tangible to even the morons that what is left of the PDP in Osun State under the governorship of Senator Ademola Adeleke is a mere carcass as the APC has been harvesting its first elevens almost on daily basis.

It is absolutely wrong for Governor Adeleke to be telling bare-faced lies to the outside world as if his purported plan to defect to the opposition APC party in the state would be an asset when it is a pathological liability which is capable of rocking the peaceful existence of the APC to its foundation.

Another lie which has been persistently told by the Adeleke administration is that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government has been seizing the allocations of the local government councils in the state when the reverse has been the case as the truth of the matter is that the Court of Appeal reinstated APC local government council chairmen and councillors via the 10th of February, 2025 judgement are undergoing the legal process of collecting the accumulated allocations.

It was observed last Tuesday at a training workshop for a handful of public school teachers in Ede, the hometown of the governor, that the state Commissioner for Education, one Dipo Eluwole Esq, also repeated the lie being fed into his subconscious by his principal that the Federal Government has been seizing the allocations due to the local government council areas when the contrary has been the case.

It was the same Eluwole who disclosed that his principal and one traditional ruler wept for fifteen minutes at a meeting in the state recently about the inability of the state government to access the local government funds which the governor has been misappropriating to run his administration with clay-legged fortification before the bubble bursted on him.

The state information commissioner and his ilk should be in the know that the discerning members of the society care less if the governor’s tear should come in blood as such is always the result of a chief executive who prioritizes dances to hard work when his peers in other states are having sleepless nights to deliver qualitative governance to their constituents.

It is pertinent to caution some of the state governors of the APC extraction and higher political office holders in the presidency who have been using their closeness to the Adeleke family of Ede to use the Osun State APC to service their friendship and dubiously sell a dummy to the highest seat of power in the land that a whirlwind has blown the metaphorical anus of the deal which has exposed their indecent antics.

Why trying to export to Osun State, the State of the Virtuous, what they do not wish for their states still remains a source of concern to the genuinely democratic-minded entities who are at sea with the anticlimax development capable of rocking the existing peace and tranquility in the foremost opposition party in the state?

If Governor Adeleke thinks he is popular, why is he afraid to join one of the numerous lesser parties and prove his political mettle instead of hankering to reap where he did not sow? Half a word is enough for the wise.

The unassailable truth is that Governor Adeleke is low in politics, and that has led to his low performance and preparation for his moribund ambition for the second term.

He broke so many agreements with the people who supported him in 2022. These people left his party at a very early stage of his government. Today, all his supporters from each federal constituency have left the party and moved to the APC.

People’s grievances against his poor performance are also there. Notwithstanding having received humongous amounts of billions of naira as statutory allocation from the federal government, all the over-hyped jobs on ground are not proportionate to the funds shared to the state in the last almost three years.

The cries of the people too over poor quality of the work is another factor such that put together makes his failure come 2026 imminent. Little wonders he is struggling to get a soft landing from the APC.
