Report reaching us has it that Abule Egba area of Lagos State is currently hot and people are running helter skelter due to the confrontation going on between Nigeria Custom Officers and some smugglers popularly known as ‘Fayawo’.

According to report from one of our correspondents Ivy Kanu, an unidentified corpse of a person killed from the intensive shootings going on between customs and the smugglers is currently lying under the bridge.
The shootings between the Customs and the smugglers started since 6 am this morning and this has made many commuters on their way to Agege to divert to another route.
Our correspondent at the scene of the shootings gathered that people were seriously blaming the custom officers for not stopping the smugglers from the border but now shooting them in Abule Egba, endangering the lives of those trying to get to work.

Also confirming the incident is a tweet by Ohi a journalist:”Burning tires under the bridge, police officer shooting to the air . Abule Egba bridge is presently blocked. A shootout between customs and smugglers which led to death of a bus conductor.”

An attempt by customs to take the body was resisted by the large crowd that gathered. RRS, TASKFORCE, FRSC, FIRE SERVICE are on ground. Ivy Kanu reports
