Port users and traders in the maritime domain re-echoed the long standing complaint about the high cost of doing business in the nation’s seaports.
While acknowledging their concerns and the repeated calls for the review of the ports concession agreement, the managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman underscored her determination to ensure that the country’s seaports become competitive.
Usman said terminal operators must respect rules of engagement.
She further cautioned terminal operators against the practice of taking cargoes to bonded terminals without the importers’ consent.
