Nigerian youths have been advised to make the most of their current economic position by becoming solution providers.

A mentoring and empowerment program for over 100 youngsters in the FCT has been organized to assist them in dealing with societal issues that have led to an upsurge in social vices across the country.

Effective youth mentoring provides essential assistance and facilitates the transition to adulthood.

It also provides youths with leadership skills, as well as interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

This produces leaders that ensure continuity and maintain the culture and values of the institution because such leaders have not only been taught but also groomed and nurtured.

To ensure that Nigerian youth are ready and prepared to explore the opportunities in the private and public sector, a non governmental organization organised a one day mentorship interactive programme for 100 youths in the FCT.

This programme is to afford the youths an opportunity to hear from entrepreneurs as well as young professionals doing well in their various endeavors.

The youths are advised to be agents for positive change and not to rely solely on the government.

The citizens have now been encouraged to also be involved in creating wealth and job opportunities, rather than relying solely on the government.

One of the major challenges facing youth is the get rich quick syndrome and Japa trend, but facilitators say the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Everyone agreed that Nigeria needs leaders that will groom the next generation.
