Nigeria has been re-elected as Member of the International Civil Aviation Organization Public Key Directory Board for the fourth time.
The International Civil Aviation Organization Public Key Directory, made up of 88 member countries, with 15 Board members is a central repository for exchanging the information required to authenticate electronic Machine Readable Travel Documents such as ePassports, electronic ID cards and Visible Digital Seals.
This is contained in a statement signed by the immigration service Public Relations officer, DCI Tony Akuneme and made available to TVC News.
According to the statement, this is coming in recognition of the vital role Nigeria has been playing on the global stage of electronic Travel Documents.
The election of Nigeria and other countries to the Board, was the highpoint of the 29th Board meeting which held in Uganda.
Meanwhile, The Nigerian delegation was led by the Comptroller General of Immigration, Isah Jere Idris.
