The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as a “masterclass in clarity, confidence, and leadership grounded in verifiable results” during his recent address to the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
In a strongly worded statement titled “Nigeria Is Rising — And No Amount of Opposition Bitterness Can Change It,” the Lagos APC said President Tinubu’s message reflected the steady progress Nigeria is making under his leadership, despite what it called the “desperate attempts by the opposition to drag the nation’s image through the mud.”
The party described Tinubu as “the President for this season — prepared, courageous, focused, and divinely aligned with the demands of this moment in national history.”
“Where others panic, he strategises. Where others shout, he delivers. Where others sow fear, he inspires confidence,” the statement read.
Highlighting the country’s recent economic milestones, the Lagos APC said the oversubscription of Nigeria’s $2.35 billion Eurobond by over 400 per cent reflected renewed global confidence in the nation’s economy.
“Investors are not sentimental — they are convinced Nigeria is back on a growth path,” it said.
The party listed several achievements of the Tinubu administration, including:
-
4.23% GDP growth — the best in a decade
-
Industrial growth nearly doubled
-
13 high-growth sectors
-
Inflation reduced to 18.02%
-
Foreign exchange reserves exceeding $43 billion
-
₦7.4 trillion trade surplus
-
Nigeria’s removal from the FATF Grey List
“These are the fruits of courageous reforms, not propaganda,” the statement added.
The Lagos APC accused opposition leaders of “demarketing Nigeria” at home and abroad and of “praying for instability” in their quest for political relevance.
“Instead of rising as statesmen, they chose bitterness. Instead of building, they wished the nation to collapse for political gain,” it said.
The statement warned that Nigerians would “reward the enemies of their country” in the 2027 general elections, adding that “you cannot seek to lead a nation you are secretly praying to fail.”
While lauding Tinubu’s efforts in restoring stability, strengthening diplomacy, and addressing security challenges, the Lagos APC said the opposition was “disintegrating under the weight of its own pettiness.”
“Nigeria will not succumb to fear, nor bow to mischief-makers. The nation will not be defined by those who trade in hopelessness,” the party declared.
Reaffirming its loyalty to the President, the Lagos APC stated: “Leadership is not noise — it is results. President Tinubu is delivering those results with courage, clarity, and conviction. Nigeria is rising again, no matter whose bitterness is bruised by that progress. The nation is in steady, capable hands.”
