As part of its attempts to safeguard small enterprises, the Niger State Government has banned all forms of taxation on hawkers and minor traders throughout the state.

Governor Umaru Bago made the statement at Government House in Minna, asking Local Government Chairmen and Councillors to ensure full compliance.

He expressed concerns over the exploitation of minor traders through several levies, pointing out that the state’s centralised tax system had officially exempted them.
