Gov Bello urges students to ensure judicious use of newly commissioned facilities

Niger state governor Abubakar Sani Bello says his administration is poised to deploy more resources for the infrastructural development of educational institutions in the state.

Governor Bello stated this when he commissioned the twin student hostels and the department of Economics at the Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida University in Lapai.

In the heat of the insecurity which bedevils on areas in Niger State, education was adversely affected leading to the closure of eight boarding schools at a certain time.

Now, the security situation has greatly improved the government says strengthening the education system and providing infrastructure development is of Paramount importance.

The commissioner for tertiary education Science and Technology explained that each of the hostel was built with a contract financing agreement with the Commercial Bank at the cost of over 301.5 million naira.

Governor Bello also commissioned other buildings in the University including a new economics Department built by Ibrahim Aliu trust foundation and named after late Ambassador James Sadokolo.

The governor urged students to ensure judicious use of these facilities so that many more students would benefit from their use.

Matters of infrastructure in Nigeria’s Public University remains an issue of urgent concern regardless of the slow pace of development, they are gradually been sorted by public private Partnerships.

As the state continues to strive for economic growth, Governor Bello also commissioned the new office complex for the Niger State development company, NSDC.

He enjoined corporate organisations to take up offices in the environment as it will contribute to economic growth of the state.
