NGO wants review of electoral law

Image result for voting in nigeriaA Non-governmental Organization, “Justice Development and Peace Maker Centre” has called for the review of legal framework on Campaign finance of the 2010 Electoral Act.

The Organization also want a commission of inquiry set-up to thoroughly evaluate INEC’s capacity and Will to enforce Campaign finance regulations.

TVC News Correspondent Rafiu Hammed reports that the 2019 general election has come and gone except in few states where there will be rerun.

Like this NGO did immediately after the Osun State Governorship election, it has also come up with it’s findings from the Nationwide monitoring of
Campaign of the main political parties and their Candidates for the 2019 presidential election.

The NGO says both the APC and PDP violate the 2010 electoral law which stipulates that no political must spend more than 1 billion naira for the
presidential election

Akinkunmi also tasked civil society Organizations, INEC, security and anti-graft agencies ahead of 2023 general Election.

The NGO also warned against the use of state Administrative resources for Campaign.
