The Nigerian Export Promotion Promotion Council has taken its Export for Survival campaign to Lagos.

The agency engaged in an export for survival walk on the streets of Lagos to drive the campaign.

This was in a bid to create export awareness amongst residents of the commercial capital with a view to entrenching an export culture amongst citizens.

The export4survival train moving from the Tarawa Balewa Square , and across broad Street , Tinubu Square, marina and parts of Lagos island spreading awareness on the export campaign.

The campaign walk was previously observed in Abuja.

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council, is now optimistic this similar act in the country’s commercial capital, and a major export hub housing many msmes, would further drive actualization of the campaign’s objectives.

Many msmes in Lagos have already been exposed to markets outside the country’s shores with the support of the NEPC.

The local manufacturers who say their horizons have been broadened , given their access to the huge international market available for their locally produced goods, say the experience has indeed been worth it.

The council has seen an all time high in the last one year from export of non-oil commodities.

That notwithstanding, positive campaigns like this one, can deepen actualization of the country’s non-oil export targets.

The export4survival campaign was recently officially launched by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.

It is one of many strategies utilised by the Council , towards making the world a market place for Nigerian non-oil products and services.

Increasing Non-Oil Export has been on the front Burner in Nigeria for decades though successive Governments have not achieved much in terms of returns.

This movement to Lagos which is the hub of all major Economic activities in Nigeria will also do the move a world of good.
