The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has flagged off the groundbreaking construction of 32km Garkida-Dabna road.
The NEDC also laid foundation for the construction of three mega model secondary schools in Gombi LGA.
Managing Director/CEO of the NEDC, Mohammed Alkali, said the road was awarded at 6.3 billion naira with other ongoing projects in Adamwa state.

He said the project would improve mobility, connect other communities, enhance livelihood and improve security and agricultural productivity.
Gombi/Hong were part of the local government areas that was invaded and terrorised by Boko Haram insurgents in Adamawa state during their escapades in 2015.
Government infrastructures such as roads and bridges were not spared by the outlaws.
In line with this core mandate to rebuild the north east region and bring succour to the victims in the north east, NEDC began construction of the Garkida-Dabna road.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Ahmad Fintiri emphasised that the project is essential as it would serve as an alternative link between the communities of Gombi and Hong Local Government Areas.
Represented by his Deputy, the governor assured the commissions of his commitment to bring smiles back to the faces of the state resident.
The move is not only being applauded, the commission was encouraged to keep up the good work.
The Garkida-Dabna project is one of the many interventions of the commission which was established in 2019.
The NEDC had also inaugurated a police station and its quarters that was destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents just as it monitored the 2.5km road project at the College of Education, Hong.
