The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has responded to a viral video circulating on X, showing what appears to be the unfair treatment of a Nigerian passenger, Ms. Gloria Omisore, by Kenya Airways.
The video, originally shared by SA Media to the Minister of Aviation, Tunde Moshood, revealed that Ms. Omisore, who was traveling from Manchester to Lagos via a connecting route—Manchester (MAN) to Paris (CDG), Nairobi (NBO), and finally Lagos (LOS)—was denied boarding in Nairobi on the second leg of her journey, despite being on the same ticket.
Reacting to the incident, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, condemned the unprofessional conduct of the airline staff and emphasized that “The airline MUST bear responsibility for what has happened to this passenger.”
In his post, he noted that In line with its consumer protection regulations—specifically Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023—the authority has now summoned Kenya Airways to its headquarters in Abuja today, Monday, February 3, 2025.
The Director further warned that if Ms. Omisore is not airlifted to her final destination within a few hours, the airline will face serious consequences.
However, The NCAA has urged the public to remain calm, assuring that it will continue to monitor the situation closely.
