The message of the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command was much appreciated by the natives of some communities in southern Ijaw where the Navy gave free health services as part of its “Medical Rhapsody” programme in Bayelsa State.

It is one hour, forty five minutes boat ride to Koluama.

Personnel of the Central Naval Command stopped briefly at the palace of His Royal Highness Michelin Amakoro Osaisai before proceeding to the Stadium pavilion where natives of Koluama One and Two communities and their kinsmen had converged for the “Medical Rhapsody” programme.

The Navy wants the communities to be partners against economic sabotage in the maritime environment.

Juxtaposing the free medical services of the Navy with the effect of criminal activities plaguing their communities, the locals want the
“Medical Rhapsody” to be an annual affair.

A health talk, medical consultation, blood pressure and sugar testing were also conducted alongside eye and HIV tests, including Hepatitis screening.
