The National Association of Nigerian Students has kicked against the Social Media bill and Hate Speech Bill presently before the Senate, noting that it’s an attempt to restrict Nigerians’ freedom of expression.
The National Publicity Secretary of the the Students’ body, Azeez Adeyemi made this known in Abeokuta.

He said the introduction of the bills are tactical moves by the government to silence the ordinary man, youths and journalists.
He said if the proposed legal frameworks are allowed to pass, the government will be vested with the sole power of determining what an hate
speech is, and as a result witch–hunts critics, opponents and journalists
