Nigeria’s Super Eagles fought back twice to earn a 2-2 draw against Poland in an international friendly at the National Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday.

Poland took the lead in the 21st minute through captain and striker Robert Lewandowski, who finished off a well-worked move to give the hosts the advantage.

The Super Eagles responded just before the break when Terem Moffi found the equaliser in the 42nd minute, ensuring both teams went into half-time level at 1-1.

The hosts restored their lead shortly after the restart as Piotr Zieliński struck in the 58th minute to make it 2-1.

However, Nigeria refused to back down and drew level once again in the 72nd minute when substitute Paul Onuachu headed home to secure a deserved share of the spoils for Eric Chelle’s side.

The result extended Nigeria’s positive run in recent friendly matches and provided another encouraging performance as the Super Eagles continue preparations for future international assignments.

Despite missing several key players, including Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, the Super Eagles showed character and resilience against a Polish side led by veteran striker Lewandowski.

Head coach Eric Chelle will take positives from his team’s ability to recover from losing positions twice, with Moffi and Onuachu providing the goals that ensured honours ended even in Warsaw.
