The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have recorded victories in separate constituencies in the concluded by-elections in Kano State.

In Bagwai/Shanono, the Returning Officer, Professor Hassan Shitu, declared Aliyu Kiyawa of the NNPP as winner with 16,198 votes, defeating the APC candidate who polled 5,347 votes.

But in Ghari/Tsanyawa constituency, the Returning Officer, Professor Muhammad Waziri, announced Garba Gwarmai of the APC as the winner with 31,472 votes, ahead of the NNPP which secured 27,931 votes.
