The Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP, in Gombe State, Mr. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki has received officials and members of a support group of PDP governorship aspirant Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna.
The members of the Sardauna Dawo-Dawo, have now converted the group into ‘Mailantarki Movement’ after the defection.
They were formally welcomed into NNPP by Mr. Mailantarki and the State Party Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano.
The Chairman of the group, Muhammad Makson, said that Mailantarki had been tested; he was capable of dealing decisively with the various challenges confronting the state.
He said it was a collective decision of the members to pull out of their support of PDP and join the NNPP to support the party in producing better leadership for Gombe State.
Mr. Makson noted that the group had about 2, 000 executive members and over 20,000 volunteers spread across the 114 wards of Gombe State.
Receiving the defectors into the NNPP, Mr. Mailantarki assured the defectors that they would be involved in all the activities of the party, especially now that campaigns had commenced.
He urged them to mobilise more people to join the party and canvass support for it for the upcoming 2023 polls.
The Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party promised that he would run an all-inclusive government in Gombe State if voted in as the Governor of Gombe State.
