The Kebi State Police says it has put in place all necessary measures to ensure that the Presidential and National Assembly Elections go smoothly without any Security breaches.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Kontagira disclosed this to TVC News Birnin Kebbi . Mr Kotangora added that the command has deployed over 5000 Officers and Men from all Security Agencies across the State.

Mr Kotangora also disclosed that identified host spots bordering Niger. Sokoto and Zamfara States have seen Security Operations and enhanced presence of Security forces.

INEC officials at the Lamiaula/ Janna Mari Ward with the Maiduguri city Centre are currently on ground sorting all election materials to proceed to their various polling units

The exercise is expected to begin at 8:30am according to the INEC schedule of operations

We can also see heavy presence of police officers as to ensure law and order is maintained as well as adhoc staff to ensure the process is conducted smoothly.

Electoral officers have arrived Kofar Baru, polling Unit 001 in Sarkin Yara Ward Daura ahead of the commencement of voting.

Registered voters are already loitering round the area waiting for the presiding officers and adhoc staff to set the ground rules that will be applied for accreditation and voting.

President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife are registered to vote at this polling unit.

We have seen a deployment of heavy security around this area, also a detachment of the economic and financial crimes commission and the Independent corrupt practices commission are at the scene to monitor the process and also ensure the prevent issues of vote buying and other forms of electoral offences.

Mr. President is expected to arrive shortly to cast his vote, he will be accompanied by his wife, members of his family and other members of staff registered to vote at the Kofar Baru Polling unit.

This will be the first time in five successive election that President Muhammadu Buhari will not be on the Ballot.

President Buhari cast his vote at this polling unit in 2003, 2007 and 2011, before he won on the ballot in 2015 and was ree-elected in 2019.

At polling unit 8 to 12 in Ogaminana ward in Adavi local government area, registered voters are already lined up waiting for the time to cast their ballot.

Already, ad hoc staff are seen setting up as others take their materials to different units within Adavi local government and beyond.
