Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi has won the European Golden Shoe for the sixth time after ending last season’s league campaign with 36 goals to his name.
The Argentine star has won the prize for the third consecutive season.
He topped the scorers chart ahead of France and PSG forward Kylian Mbappé who scored 33 goals.
The Barçelona captain now has six Golden Shoes in his personal trophy cabinet, two more than his rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Argentine has now won the award for the third time in a row, another unique achievement since the prize was initiated in 1968.
Only a few players have won the award more than once. They include the legendary Eusébio, Gerd Müller, Dudu Georgescu, Fernando Gomes, Ally McCoist, Mário Jardel, Thierry Henry, Diego Forlán and Luis Suárez.
