Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has reaffirmed his commitment to check rising security threats in the state, vowing to crack down on criminal activities.
Ododo stated that the state will not bow to pressure or negotiate with criminals. He pledged to continue taking the fight to those threatening the state’s progress.
Speaking after an expanded security council meeting in Lokoja, the governor directed that all social, religious, and community activities must now end by 4 p.m. across the state until further notice.
He stressed that the directive takes immediate effect and warned that any social event or religious centre that violates the order will face legal consequences.
The emergency meeting, involving security agencies, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders, follows rising public anxiety over reported bandits presence in parts of the state.

TVC previously reported that two people have been confirmed dead following an attempted attack on Kiri High School in Aiyetoro Kiri, located in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
