Voting has commenced in some parts of Kogi state with registered voters in places like Agassa, Onoba polling unit 11 Okene checking their names on the voter register in Ihimi Okene , people are on the queue getting accredited with the card readers. No report of malfunction card readers .

Ad hoc staff say turnout has been impressive.

Three hundred and seventy nine voters are expected to cast their ballots at this polling units.

In Kogi frontline contenders including governor yahaya bello, Musa wada and Natasha Akpoti have all cast their ballot.

It’s the same story in the Kogi West senatorial district where incumbent senator dino Melaye and and his main rival Smart Adeyemi have also voted.

In Bayelsa state, Election officials arrive most polling units in Kogi West senatorial district as early as 7.45am.

They were accompanied by unarmed policemen who maintained law and order.

The exercise has been going on in most of these polling units without hitch. But at a few of the voting points, some card readers initially malfunctioned but were rectified almost immediately.

Some of the voters describe the exercise as peaceful and hitch free. Three hundred and seventy nine voters are expected to cast their ballots at these polling units.
