Kano Gov Sani presents 2024 draft budget to stakeholders at townhall meeting

The Kaduna State Government has released its planned N458.271 billion budget for 2024, as Governor Uba Sani seeks opinion from stakeholders and Kaduna residents before submitting it to the state House of Assembly.

The draft, titled “Budget of Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development,” was presented at a town hall meeting in Kaduna.

The people in Kaduna are participating in a process of preparing the budget.

Governor Uba Sani and the Kaduna State government, opened their doors to allow the them have a say in the proposed N458.271 billion spending plan for 2024.

Governor UBA Sani will need the approval of the house of Assembly to implement the Kaduna State’s ” Budget of Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development”

41% is dedicated to education and health, this is seen as an effort to prioritise the people’s well-being.

The draft budget highlights a fair balance between spending on infrastructure and day-to-day operations, making sure that both the development projects and ongoing needs of the state are addressed.

The Commissioner for Planning and Budget, Mukhtar Ahmed spoke on the execution of some social initiatives that will target one million vulnerable people in the state.

The people at the townhall meeting talked about their own priorities and what the government’s scale of preference should be.

The Kaduna government believes this budget depicts it’s intentions to put the people first.

1. “Budget of Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development” capital expenditure -N318,836,576,588.28 recurrent expenditure – N139,434,722,889.38

2. The draft budget for education – 25.19%,
health – 15.63% totaling about 40.82% of the total draft proposed budget.
