The Department of Petroleum Resources said Saturday’s gas outlet owner in Kaduna state where an explosion occurred was operating without a license.
DPR said owners of the shop only relocated to the area a few weeks ago and were operating without a license. The agency added that beyond their illegal operation, their cylinders were wrong and expired.

It warned that owners of gas businesses in the state will henceforth be monitored strictly to ensure they comply with all requirements.
Six people have been confirmed dead from the explosion, among them is Director General of Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, Professor Simon Mallam.
