Super Eagles Midfielder Alex Iwobi has taken responsibility for his late- game red card in Nigeria’s 2-2 international friendly draw against Jordan, offering an apology to teammates and supporters.
The Super Eagles midfielder was sent off during the March 31 encounter after reacting angrily to being held back by Jordanian player Amer Jamous.
Speaking on the Alexander Yaa Digg podcast, the Fulham star described his conduct as unacceptable and expressed regret over the incident.

“I need to address what I did and apologise to all my Nigerian teammates, staff, and everyone who cares about Nigeria. My actions were not good enough, and I got sent off,” Iwobi said.
He added that he is determined to learn from the experience and focus on improving going forward.
“But I will learn from this and keep moving on. We got a draw, we did not lose, so we will take the positives. I want to apologise for the mistake,” he said.
Despite the late setback, Nigeria held on to secure a draw, with Iwobi noting that the team would build on the positives from the match.
