The Independent National Electoral Commission has issued certificate of return to the Governor of Oyo state Seyi Makinde.
The Commission also presented the certificate to the 32 House of Assembly members Elect across the 33 local governments of the state.
The Governor in his address assured the people of the state that his new administration is ready to face the task of good governance and building a state that will be an envy to all the states in Nigeria.
According to him, it is a time to redouble our efforts to taking the people from poverty to prosperity.
Governor Seyi Makinde commended his fellow contenders for the show of spirit of sportsmanship towards him after the election results were declared.
PRESIDENT ELECT TO PROVIDE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR AL CITIZENS
Muslim Faithful in the country have advised the president elect to give equal appointment opportunities to both Christians and Muslims.
They made this known at an annual Ramadan Lecture in Abuja, with the theme, retracing our step towards the right path.
Its the Ramadan season , a time when Muslims the world over observe an annual fast and pray to seek the face of God.
This annual Ramadan Lecture is being held in the spirit of the season.
The theme retracing our step towards the right path is aimed at making Nigerians particularly the youths do the right thing.
This is against the backdrop of peer pressure and other societal ills which have impacted the young people negatively.
Participants also have a message for the president elect.
They seek that he hits the ground running after assuming office while ensuring that appointments into public offices is duly spread with various religious groups getting fair representation in the country.
Facilitators of the Ramadan lecture, seek that Muslims assist other members of the society particularly the less privileged at this time.
They also want them to cut down on social media use, pray and meditate constantly on the Holy book and most importantly fear God.
COURT ORDER FORCES IYORCHIA AYU TO STEP ASIDE, DAMAGUM APPOINTED AS ACTING CHAIRMAN.
There is a new man at the saddle of the troubled people’s democratic party as the embattled National chairman Iyorchia Ayu has been restrained by a Benue State high court in Markurdu from parading himself as National chairman of the party.
The national working Committee of the PDP held an emergency meeting at the headquarters of the party where they appointed the Deputy National Chairman North of the party Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun as the national chairman of the party in acting capacity.
The highest decision making organ of the party acknowledged the Order of the Benue State High Court, dated March 27, 2023 with regards to the Chairmanship of the Party.
They urged all leaders, critical stakeholders, teeming members and supporters of the Party to remain calm and united at this critical time.
