Imo Police arrest 26 sit-at-home enforcers, 53 others for various crimes

Police in Imo State say they have arrested 26 sit-at-home enforcers suspected to be members of the outlawed Indigenous people of Biafra and 53 other suspects involved in kidnapping, child trafficking, murder and other related crimes.

Parading the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the Commissioner of Police Mohammed Barde said his officers and men are determined to provide a secured environment for the citizens.

Following the rising insecurity in Imo State occasioned by the activities of ‘unknown’ gunmen, the police in the State have continued to come up with strategies to defeat these criminal elements.

Here are 53 suspects involved in various crimes ranging from kidnapping, child trafficking, armed robbery, organ harvesting among others. The police also arrested 26 sit-at-home enforcers at a hotel in Irete, Owerri West local government area.

The police public relations officer who briefed the press on behalf of Commissioner of Police said the command will continue to be on top of the situation.

The Command’s public relations officer also used the occasion to enjoined the public to disregard any sit-at-home order by any outlawed group.

This woman made confession to child trafficking. For this 22 year old, he admitted to stabbing his friend to death over 3000 dollars.
