The Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria have spoken about the impact they have made so far at the International Labour Organisation conference.

The President of the Nigerian Labour Congress Comrade Ayubba Wabba after delivering his report to the chairperson and Director General of the International Labour Congress expressed joy that Nigerian delegates are
very active in the workers group, noting that this will ensure better working conditions for workers all over the world.

He announced that the ILO has budgeted and approved funds for the purpose of organising workers in Nigeria.

The President of the Trade Union Congress spoke extensively on the active participation of Nigerians  at the ILO conference, while also harping on the need for work place safety.

One of the 7 initiatives launched by ILO aims at strengthening the ILO’s unique methods so that international Labour standards remain the benchmark for social justice around the globe.

A successful review of International Labour standards will ensure that international Labour standards are responsive to a rapidly changing world.
