Kelechi Iheanacho’s equalising goal rescued a draw for Leicester City against Aston Villa in the first leg of the league cup semi final played on Wednesday.
Iheanacho who came on as a substitute, finished well from a Jamie Vardy’s pass to give The Foxes a lifeline for the second leg at Villa Park.
Earlier on Tuesday, Manchester City grabbed a 3-1 win over city rivals, Manchester United with goals from Bernando Silva, Riyad Mahrez and an own goal before a consolatory goal by Marcus Rashford reduced the deficit
The second leg of the semi final matches will be played in a forth night.
In France, Mauro Icardi scored an hat-trick as Paris St-Germain reached the French League Cup semi-finals with a 6-1 thrashing of 10-man Saint-Etienne.
Neymar and Kylian Mbappe also added a goal each for the French champions.
Victor Osimhen was also on target for Lille Metropole who booked a place in the semi-final of the Coupe de la Ligue with a 2-0 win over Amiens.
