Hamza Alhaji Bello has been elected as the new Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, following a peaceful and well-attended state congress held over the weekend.
Bello secured overwhelming support from over 2,000 delegates drawn from all 21 Local Government Areas of the state, cementing his leadership role within the party ahead of the next political cycle.
The congress, conducted under tight security, saw a wide representation of party stakeholders and was widely praised for its peaceful, transparent, and orderly conduct.

Announcing the results, the Chairman of the Adamawa State Congress Committee, Barrister Dave Iorhemba, commended both the delegates and aspirants for their maturity and discipline throughout the process. He described the exercise as free, fair, and credible, noting that it upheld the democratic ideals and internal party democracy championed by the PDP.
“This congress has once again demonstrated the PDP’s commitment to democratic principles. The orderly and transparent manner in which it was conducted should serve as a model for others,” Iorhemba stated.
Hamza Alhaji Bello is expected to lead the party into the next phase of political activities in the state, including preparations for future elections and party reforms.
The congress also marks a renewed effort by the PDP in Adamawa to strengthen internal structures and foster unity among members.
