The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has arrived in Gusau, the Capital City of Zamfara, amidst tight security and cheers from thousands of his supporters and lovers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Minister and his entourage were received by a mammoth crowd, including members of the state working committee of the All Progressive Congress, party stalwarts, supporters and well-wishers.

They were received by thousands of their supporters from Tsafe Town in Tsafe Local government and Kwatarkwashi, a community in Bungudu local council, which is barely ten kilometres away from Gusau, the city centre.

Bello Matawalle, who was a former Governor of Zamfara state between 2019 to 2023, is billed to meet with party stakeholders, executives and supporters from across the fourteen local government areas of the state.

The Minister is also among those the people of the state are calling on to contest for the number one seat, come 2027, under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Matawalle is expected to meet with APC Bigwigs, Party executives at all levels and supporters in Gusau between Thursday, 13th, to Saturday, 15th November and will proceed to his country home, Maradun, in Maradun LGA, to visit family and relations and also meet with other political groups from the Western Zamfara Senatorial Zone, where he hailed from

The wife of the Minister, Aisha Bello Matawalle, and her team had arrived at the Minister’s residence in Gusau.

The former Zamfara First Lady is also expected to meet with different women’s groups from across the state as part of the upcoming mega political gathering.

Among his entourage are Former Deputy Governors, Senator Hassan Nasiha, Mukhtar Anka, Senator Sahabi Ya’u, the Director General of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Cooperation, Yazeed Danfulani, his former Chief of Staff, former Commissioners, among others.
