Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
He has directed all former commissioners to hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries.

This development comes a day after the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Austin Tam-George, resigned from his position as the image maker of the state.
Two days ago, the Commissioner for Works, Bathuel Harrison, was also relieved of his position.
