Governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun has asked residents of the state not to escalate tensions, a plea made during a visit to the family of a footballer, Tiyamiyu Kazeem, who was allegedly murdered by a police in the Sagamu axis of the state.
Kazeem Olowe reports that the violent protest that claimed the lives of three persons in Sagamu seemed to have aggravated the already tensed situation in the town as both old and young complained about intimidation and harassment by the policemen.
At the home of the deceased, relatives complained to the Governor who was there with the Deputy Inspector General of Police about unprofessional conducts of some policemen in the area.
Also at the Palace of Akarigbo of Remo land, the Governor commiserated with the monarch and the entire people of Sagamu, promising that Justice will prevail on the matter.
He urged the monarch to appeal to residents not to take laws into their hands.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police who represented the Inspector General of Police during the visit said all satellite stations of Zonal offices have been disbanded.
