Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri says his administration will continue to support and sustain its collaboration with the Army to enhance security in the state.

The governor spoke when the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

This is the first time the chief of army staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja will officially visit Adamawa state to assess the security situation as well as to boost the morale of his men on the front line.

His first port of call was the 23rd armoured brigade Yola where he had a closed-door meeting with officers and men.

Shortly after the meeting, the army chief made a courtesy call to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri where he was commended for visiting the state.

The governor commended the gains recorded by the military which he claims is in line with president Bola Tinubu’s zero tolerance for all forms of insecurity.

He says though the State has grappled with security challenges in some local governments, he is optimistic that the commitment of the military will help contain the challenges.

Governor Fintiri commended the 23 Armoured Brigade commander, Brigadier General PK Zawaya, for always responding whenever his attention is needed on security issues

Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff told the Governor that he has interacted with the 23 Brigade formation where he was briefed on the security situation of the state.

The visit of the chief of army staff is expected to boost the morale of officers and men who are saddled with the responsibility of protecting the territorial integrity of the nation.
