The House of Representatives is seeking to be part of resolutions between government and electricity workers henceforth.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila said this is to ensure that agreements are implemented to avoid industrial disharmony.
This was the outcome of a meeting between the federal government led by Labour and Employment Minister, Chris Ngige and electricity Workers.
The House had through a motion of urgent public importance on Wednesday summoned all parties to a meeting as the nationwide strike embarked upon by electricity workers entered the second day.
The strike has since been suspended and the lawmakers have promised to make necessary amendments to the constitution to enable the Power Minister have some power of enforcement.
The meeting lasted for about one hour.
