Four Persons Die in Ondo Accident

Four persons have been died in an accident that occurred near Shasha Market along the Akure-Owo highway.

The accident involved a Toyota Sienna bus and a hummer bus.

Eyewitnesses said the accident was as a result of head-on collision of the vehicles.

The witnesses said three passengers in the Toyota Sienna, including the driver died.

 

A security personnel at the scene of the accident, who pleaded anonymity, said two persons have been confirmed dead.

He said the driver of the Toyota Sienna attempted to overtake a trailer on the single lane highway when he collided with the Hummer bus coming from Lagos State.

Ondo Sector Commander Commander the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) Ezekiel SonAllah, said several persons were injured in the accident.

He promised to release full details of the accident after getting report from his officials.

The Akure-Owo highway has witnessed an upsurge of traffic in the last few years following the issues on Other routes that were the alternative route between the North and Southwest and the South South making the road more busy than normal.

Accidents have happened on the route on a consistent basis though not always fatal.

Observers expect that the situation on the road will improve overtime with the rehabilitation of failed sections of the road and the attention alternative routes have been getting.
